Malta (EUROPE)

People: Historically, the apostle Paul was shipwrecked on its shores. Today, Malta is a popular tourist destination; economy relies on trade with European countries. Many immigrants pour through the island as they travel from Africa to Europe, resulting in social tensions with the native population.

Marshall Islands (OCEANIA)

People: During the Cold War, the USA tested 67 nuclear weapons at its Pacific Proving Grounds located in the Marshall Islands, including the largest atmospheric nuclear test ever conducted by the U.S. At one time, the Marshall Islands were considered “by far the most contaminated place in the world.” A large concentration of about 4,300 Marshall Islanders have relocated to Springdale, AR. The United States is solely responsible for international defense of the Marshall Islands.

What to Pray About: The rate of Type 2 diabetes one of the highest in the world. To this day, the Marshall Islands also suffers from many consequences of nuclear testing. Religion has enormous influence in every area of society, but there is a lack of solid biblical teaching and many are easily led astray by cults.
